Cleaving Bonds (P-o-e-m)

So here we stand
On slippery grounds afar,
With all your promises fusing in sand
Every sweet memory turning sour.

Woven together, by a string of trust
We once fought each other’s fears,
But now all the pain that you thrust
Don’t seem to heal for thousand years.

You were once my only shadow
Followed me even in the darkest nights,
Now endless reasons force to let go
A friendship, fallen from precarious heights.

Together we had danced in the rainy days
And counted stars in the starry skies,
Now those memories have been set ablaze
In the fire of fury that never dies.

Now every little secret crawls into the core
Of my badly bruised and battered heart,
Not intending to confront you anymore
As every symphony has fallen apart.

Not a single teardrop you’d ever let fall
Then what withholds you today
As rivulets of tears afraid to halt
Run down my cheeks in dismay.

Like glistening stars in the velvet sky
You had brightened my life with a boom,
But these stars have now burnt all the ties
Leaving me clueless in the darkening doom.

Time slithered with the changing seasons
Every color of bliss gradually altered,
For you crucified my faith with untold reasons
At every step, our friendship faltered.

The road we chose shockingly ends
At the foot of unfathomable seas,
For once, we were best of friends
Now we are worst of enemies!!

Meeh?!..A dReAmEr..!

Everyday the bright sunshine pales to the glimmering dusk which thickens with the stars sparkling up high in the sky. During this, when my head hits the pillow, I'm enveloped in arms of sleep. As the sleep grows profound, I slip into a dream that drives me away from reality.

Dreams have always been a crucial part of my life. I don't refer to the dreams that we sight with our eyes opened wide but the ones that invade us when we are sound asleep. It feels like I'm living a dual world, the one that's realism and the other that's illusionary and will never coincide with the former. Though we see a hundred dreams a night but can recall only one or two when we're woken up by daylight, but i think they do have a sort of impact on my thinking process. Every dream brings with it a lost memory and a long forgotten emotion that was once a part of our life. It's quite amazing that Some cherished moments captured by our eyes, retained by the brain are displayed in our dreams. Though these dreams last for a minute or two but they hover our minds for the whole succeeding day. They perplex our senses by creating an enigma between reality and unreality. I wonder how people penetrate into our dreams and start
taking over our minds. How some faces we have never come across in life look so familiar in our dreams, it's quite absurd and also surprising. How some dreams carry us to a world of fantasy and adventure where everything seems magical and bewitching, like flying in the sky or a chocolate river:). Methinks most of our dreams reflect our crudest thoughts and secret desires that are unexpressed to even our closest friends. I wonder why dreams that turn out to be sweet are often the most fleeting ones, how our most dreaded fears chase us through nightmares and how a dream make up a day or ruins it. While some dreams are easy to comprehend, others entangle my mind in knots. Some people take some of their dreams as bad omens and premonitions which portray dreams as something mystical and supernatural.

When I was
really small, I was haunted by a nightmare(certainly a nightmare for a 4 year old)in which i get stuck in some unknown land bereft of my parents. It's only now that I realized that these nightmares only showed my adhesion with my parents especially my mother. But now my nightmares only consist of me getting poor grades in never-ending exams. I'm still baffled as to who really blend these dreams!? How dreams are so tantalizing and leave us bewildered by their falsification.

#Terrorism#..A sTiGmA

As every day walks by, I drown in dreamy slumber anticipating a new dawn. But what if this slumber never breaks and tomorrow flys by. Just a boom and everything into ashes.

TERRORISM has crippled my dream of beholding India as a developed nation. Day after day, I see its arms snapping away the mirth of masses. Not a day goes by without the news of bomb blasts, terrorist attacks, bloodshed capturing our televisions. The pandemonium and strife created by terrorism has wrecked the economy of our country. The hue and cry of people have pierced the quiet. Every now and then, the brutal hands of terrorism stifle a son, a father to death. Terrorism has not only shattered buildings and towers but also the hopes of many aspirants and visionaries of India. It has rendered millions homeless, orphaned thousands and demolished the word "peace" in this world. It has impregnated a feeling of terror and awe in all of us. We've been confined to the walls of false solace that our life is secure. Even if the noise of gunshots calm down but the fear of death prevails. We have got so inured to this fear that the thought of terminating it often invades our mind but creates no difference.

But now we need to wake up and pulverize this fear before w
e are ssuccumbed by it. The day of awakening is not far, when each one of us will take the charge of battling terrorism. We can defeat terrorism by being more alarmed about the happenings around us, not giving any chance to those atrocious terrorists to play with our innocent lives. We must not let them turn every color to red. Let's make every minute worth living, deficient of dread, let's replace our hopelessness and lethargy with zeal and courage to fight back terrorism. We must not forget that unity is our strength. Let's be open-hearted to victims of terrorism. Lets destroy terrorism before it destroys us.

Now that the cries of agony hurt my ears and the sight of bloodshed blind my eyes, I ponder how humanity has descended to such a low level. Men are now after one another's blood. It's often easy to steal one's life away but it's tough to offer life to dead. I reckon humans have forgotten the basis of life - love and it's quite pitiable. The fire of rage has burnt down the branches of mercy, benevolence, love and sympathy. At this, my heart sinks deeper and deeper. But as I've always been taught that there's spring after winter, dusk before dawn, I wish humanity finds its way back to the earth.

My P-o-e-m!

BROKEN
I always tried to live in present
But somehow couldn’t bury my past
For some wounds are yet to be healed
A part of me is still aghast.

As I try to move ahead
Unfailingly they catch hold of me
The spirits of doom and despair
Their recklessness won’t let me free.

I dread the future yet to come
Beholding the present slipping away
Still in clutches of brutal evils
In possession of a soul to slay.

Is there an end to my agony
Am I destined to dwell this way
My senses long for a dreadful slumber
As every color turns to grey.

Pushed into the hole of gloom
My mortal wounded and defeated
Somehow still in quest of hope and relief
Those gay memories almost deleted.

Dreams offer mere consolation
Whilst reality pierces through me
Frozen by the might of misery
Struggling hard enough to breathe.

I’m finally shattered into fragments
But the enduring time still goes on
And I fell into an unceasing sleep
With no hope to witness a dawn.
